Microsoft offers one of the most prestigious and hands-on Software Engineering Internships for university students across India. Interns collaborate with diverse product teams, solve real-world challenges, and help build next-generation software that empowers users globally. Interns are expected to contribute to the entire development cycle—from designing and coding to testing and deployment—while demonstrating a growth mindset and embracing new technologies.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll:

• Apply engineering principles to develop robust, scalable solutions
• Work closely with Program Managers and Product Managers to gather requirements
• Write high-quality, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
• Gain exposure to the software development lifecycle in a global, collaborative team
• Build skills in technologies aligned to Microsoft’s real-world applications
• Participate in networking, learning, and personal growth programs

Key Technical Skills:

Data structures, Algorithms, Programming (any major language: C++, Java, Python, C#), Software design, Debugging, Teamwork, Time management, Adaptability

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Must have at least one academic term/semester remaining after the internship concludes
• Demonstrated understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, OOP)
• Experience in at least one programming language (C++, Java, Python, or C#)
• Quick learner able to adapt to new tech and processes
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
